Lap tops are not shipped with fully charged batteries as with most electronics such as DVD players etc., always charge first. Use it plugged in and only on battery power when you need to be mobile it will save on the number of times the battery is cycled, charged/discharged, and make the battery last longer. Games such as farmville to not hurt a lap top system but the incorrect closing of non responding programs, shutting down the lap top improperly causes system files to become corrupt and crashes the operating system.
