I need a laptop for college. Preferably less than 1100. I extremely want a mac book but unfortunately parents aren’t sold on it. I’ve heard its the best in virus protection, lasting longest, updating not needed as much and its the fastest.

A dell is another choice, but I’ve heard it crashes more and slower.

I want a very fast computer that can stand all of my photos and music.

for 1100 it doesn’t really matter what you get as long as it has a decent processor, ram, and good hard disk memory. I saw a few laptops at best buy on sale that had decent specs and were under 1k. What you want is:

2.4ghz dual core CPU
ATLEAST 3 gigs or ram
and about 250 gigs of ram should be fine.

look at the toshibas at best buy…they have nice stats and look nice on the outside.

How should I go about measuring for stitches. I would also like to make a flap but i can do that separately as a triangle.

Make a swatch about 4″X 4″ and see how many stitches are in an inch. That will let you know how many stitches you will have to cast on but get more as you have to have room for the sides. If you have trouble figuring out the amount e-mail me with the info.

I am hoping to buy a mini laptop but I need to know a few things first (keeping in mind I am hopeless with technology lol) Firstly, what is the memory like on them? When I was looking through a catalogue I noticed a few said 150G HDD or something similar. What does that mean? Secondly, do any of them have a CD drive? Thirdly, which is the best mini laptop in your opinion and why?

I don’t think you can get a laptop that is new and $ 300. You can try newegg or mysimon. Do not get a dell because they cheaper they are the faster they die.

Laptop Screen?

I turned on my laptop today only to find that the screen is blank every time I boot up. Now I look closely I can see that it is actually very, very dark. I have not tampered with any settings and I don’t think there are any settings I can change although any suggestions are welcome. I fear it may be that someone has knocked it and the screen needs repair and if this is the case than could domeone give me and estimated price they think it would cost?

could be the backlight(if it has one , sounds like it has(OR HAD!!)) i reckon you will be looking on the sharp end of 100 quid for replacement!!

Hi, I’m curious if it’s possible to build laptops, I’m used to building Desktop PCs because they can be cheaper, more affordable and better in every aspect, but then I look at Laptops, which are going for 500+ for a decent one, I’d rather get the parts I want and build my own, can anyone tell me if this is possble and websites for this?
