I was wondering about the ASUS eee PC 1000HE 10-Inch Notebook in particular. I will be giving it as a gift to my mother who really just needs it to go online, check email and play bingo. The price is great I just want to make sure she will be able to use it with her ethernet she already has.
If this one is no good, can you recommend another computer around the same price range?

That’s fine for your grandma! It will do anything on the internet she needs it to do!

These netbooks/nettops are made for the Elderly and children, or those who just want an extra way to jump on the internet. It has an Ethernet port (or so this website I’m looking at says it does) so it will work just fine being plugged in! You could also buy a wireless router and let her use it anywhere in her house.

I want a laptop that is at least a 16″ screen, and a number keypad on the right side of the keyboard. I also want at least 4gb memory and at least 250gb hard drive. Also a webcam would be nice. My budget is $ 1,000, but the cheaper, the better. Does anyone know where to get one?
Oh yeah and I also don’t want a used laptop either.

The only laptops you’ll find on the internet for so cheap are dumpster-dive 8 year old crap on eBay and Craigslist. Either that or truly AWFUL ARM-based laptops with monochrome screens running Windows CE, but those are even more useless than the dumpster dive crap.

Save up your money. $ 100 will get you nothing but trash.

I’ve been looking all over but can’t seem to find a bag that fits 15.6″ – I’m only finding bags that fit up to 15.4″ and am nervous that they won’t fit..

There are plenty of bags out there made to fit laptops over 15.4″.

You can look for one that’s specifically for 15.6″ laptops[1], or even for one that’s for 16″[2] or 17″[3] laptops.

I know laptops in general, are not cheap but I want to purchase one from an online website that sells brand new ones for good prices. Please let me know of the store or it’s website. I have already checked common stores such as Walmart, Bestbuy, Circuitcity, and so on. I am looking for uncommon stores. Please do not give a link to win a free laptop.

check out www.dell.com and click the outlet store great deals. they are just usually brand new returns. i got and 13″ xps for $ 800 at dell

dell usually have some deals on, I’d recommend them, but all premade systems from other stores are all either too expensive (for their components) or rubbish spec.
Here are parts you need in it:
Core 2 DUO processor, 2.4 Ghz or over
Free Windows 7 Upgrade
3 – 4gb Of RAM
I designed a dell inspiron 15 to these specs and a few other tweaks with a 15.4 inch screen (perfect for work and movies ;) ) and it came to just north of £400.

no its not. only 1 real reason. Why the hell is anyone going to give out 2 laptops for nothing?
They wouldnt. They are usually free, but you have to buy stuff from like 15 sponsors or something like that.

i havent bought one, but in general refurbished products are ones that people have bought opened the box and then changed their mind, so because the box has been opened they cant be sold as new, so the chnaces are it will be in fine condition!!
