My laptop keeps getting frozen, I think I might need a repair like a whole system cleanup. I was also thinking of installing wireless internet on it. Where’s a good place to go get all of that done and not getting ripped off? BTW I live in California.

Did you buy this laptop new? Do you still have the paperwork that came with it? User Guide? If you do, look for the Function key,(for example, F11, F12), that you press to do a System Restore. Follow the directions, or come back here and ask us. You can also go online to the laptop manufacturer’s website, look for Support in the top header, and click on it. On this page, type in your model number/letter combo, and when this page comes up, look for System Restore Disk, or type it in the search bar on the page.( I suggest you spend the money for the disk, instead of a download. This way you’ll have it in the future, if you need it, at your fingertips. Usually cost’s $ 12 to $ 22, for shipping and handling, depends on how fast you want it shipped) Can’t find any of this info? Come back and post your laptop maker, and model number.(Model number is on the bottom, next to the operating system ‘sticker’. For example, WindowsXP is an OS, or operating system) If we had this info we could guide you also, to see if you have wireless internet capability built-in, or have to buy a wireless adapter card for it.

I just bought my laptop 12 days ago, and I asked the slaesman for advices on how to take care of the batteries and I told him about my sisters’ probleom with their laptops and how their batteries can’t last for more than 5 min without pluging the charger.
and I want to avoid this delima as possible, and he told me that the way to avoid it is by removing the batteries after it’s fully charged, and keep the laptop plugged to the charger without the batteries and use the battereis only if i’m going to move from a place to another and this will make the batteries last longer.
I want to know if this is true and if it’s not I would like to know my options.

Most laptops wont even start up without the battery being connected to the laptop.

To maintain the battery here are a couple of tips:
Once in a while, fully charge the battery , then run it DOWN. TO the MAX! I mean, fully empty the batter. Then, re charge it.

Don’t do that all the time, but once in a while.

Not using the battery will also kill it.

Keep it cool! You don’t want the battery to be too warm. around 18C is enough.

Also, common sense. Don’t throw the batter. Remember. The battery is also covered in the warranty!

I just got a new laptop and I started using it until the battery died,. Then, I found out that I was suppose to charge it for 12 hours. Is that going to screw my laptop all up?
It’s a 6 cell battery.

No, but it’s better for your battery to charge full and use until it drains periodically.

playing farmville on a laptop isn’t bad for it, I do it on mine all of the time, and playing farmville isn’t going to crash your hard drive.
